Anti-racism education
The NSW Department of Education and Hawkesbury High School reject all forms of racism. We are committed to the elimination of racial discrimination. All schools are required to have a trained Anti-Racism Contact Officer (ARCO), at Hawkesbury High School that person is Ms Melissa Titchmarsh.
The ARCO can assist any member of the school community who wishes to discuss an allegation of racism and facilitates the complaints handling process.
The ARCO is the initial point of contact who supports students and staff that may have experienced racism. After investigation, the school response will be carried out in accordance with Hawkesbury High School Discipline and Wellbeing procedures. The ARCO supports the complainant, provides mediation and seeks to deliver a positive resolution.
Racism has damaging effects on individuals, school communities and society. At Hawkesbury High School we have a zero tolerance of racism.
If your son or daughter has experienced racism please direct them to Ms Titchmarsh in the Mathematics faculty.
