We would like to inform you about the upcoming temporary closure of the Lower Portland Ferry Service from 9.30am to 2.30pm on Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 May to carry out safety upgrade works.

Detours
Emergency vehicles needing to cross the river between 9.30am and 2.30pm from Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 May will be able to do so with a 20-minute delay.
Motorists seeking to cross the river between 9.30am and 2.30pm from Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 May will need to take a detour to access Sackville Ferry, adding an extra 30 minutes to travel times.
When the Lower Portland ferry service is not running, motorists on the western side of the river will need to detour via Western Portland Road.
Motorists on the eastern side of the river will need to detour via River Road to access Sackville Ferry.
Please plan your trip and allow extra travel time. Please keep to the speed limits and follow the signs and directions.
When carrying out work on ferry crossings conditions such as wet weather, wind, tides and flooding can slow or stop the work. For these reasons the scheduled work times provided can change or be extended. Live Traffic NSW, 132 701 or livetraffic.com, will be updated with changes to traffic conditions and ferry crossing operations that may affect your journey. We will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.
