The Royal Aero Club of New South Wales, located at Camden Airport in Sydney's south-west, is the Southern Hemisphere's largest volunteer-run flight training organisationand they have a unique focus on upskilling young people for future careers in aviation.
Lachlan Hyde, the President of the Royal Aero Club is reaching out today regarding a fantastic opportunity for our students. Twice a year, they host a 'Try and Fly Weekend' for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to take to the skies and picture a future where they're in the pilot seat. Activities include a one-on-one Trial Introductory Flight with a Flight Instructor, an airside tour of Camden Airport, career talks about the various pathways aviation has to offer, as well as a BBQ lunch.
This program is an excellent opportunity for students to kickstart their aviation careers, providing them with a glimpse into the life of a pilot. Many do not realise how accessible aviation can be, whether as a career or hobby. We aim to promote this opportunity widely, helping young people start their journey toward obtaining a pilot's license which is a highly in-demand skill that can open doors to global travel and adventure.
